I have two dogs who experience Alopecia X (Black Skin Disease). One just went through his third bout and the other her first. The one who was having it the first time was well into the bout and had experienced quite a bit of hair loss when I began treatment with Fur Happy Optimal. The other dog who has had it now 3 times, was only just starting the process when we began this treatment.

The dog who has had it before gets a significant amount of black skin and hair loss. He is a Pomeranian and his coat would come back very corded like a Puli. This time, he had little hair loss, comparatively, or black skin. His coat is currently in the process of recovery, coming back in and it is not corded AT ALL, which gives me hope that maybe this product has really done a great job and hope that he won't get it again. That being said, his coat is coming in much slower than it did the last two times, but that could be because it is coming in correctly.

The dog who was experiencing the Alopecia X for the first time, as stated, was well into it when the treatment was begun. However she turned around rather quickly once it was started and has gotten a beautiful, soft coat, which is still coming in. Her tail and backs of her hind legs still need a lot of growth, but those areas are usually the slowest to come back.

Zumalka has a maintenance program that I am following for both dogs.

Fur Happy Optimal is costly, but has been well worth it for my dogs. Highly recommended.
